The increasingly frenetic pace of modern life can take a heavy toll on our physical and mental well-being, and we all have the headaches, backaches, indigestion, and insomnia to prove it. As a professional stress-reduction therapist, Dr. L. John Mason has made it his life’s work to combat the debillitating effects of this all-consuming condition. In the original GUIDE TO STRESS REDUCTION, Dr. Mason presented a comprehensive program of exercises designed to alleviate stress, helping thousands of afflicted readers return to the comforting fold of life’s natural rhythms. Newly revised and updated, Dr. Mason’s landmark book continues to teach us how to reduce tension and anxiety with techniques such as autogenics, progressive relaxation, visualization, meditation, biofeedback, and desensitization. Following Dr. Mason’s time-tested advice, a mere 20 minutes of deep relaxation a day can aid mental growth, improve physical health and emotional stability, and even increase spiritual awareness. The stress of living in today’s world is real, but the way we respond to and overcome it is up to us. Isn’t enhancing your quality of life worth just a few minutes of your time?

Eliminating Stress, Finding Inner Peace and Instant Calm Natural Stress Relief with Sound Therapy
It’s been discovered that sound can be used to elicit responses in the brain; the brain becomes “entrained”, which means it starts to resonate at the same frequency as the sound. When this happens, it can change the brain wave patterns in your brain temporarily. The sound therapy techniques and frequencies on this beautiful program are an effective and drug free way to ease stress. This a 30 minute Ambient Sound therapy program, utilizing powerful and healing sound frequencies and pulses known to reduce stress, and induce a feeling of calm. Studies have shown that with continued use, sound therapy techniques can eventually rewire the brain to a more balanced state, with long lasting results.

Question by Tim H: Is there a natural treatment for lower back pain?
I have lower back pain, and have been looking for a natural back pain relief type treatment. What kinds of things can I do? Pilates, yoga, weights, massage are all good, but the only thing that really makes it feel any better is to go to the chiropractor. I get nervous about the adjustment because it usually hurts, but at least I feel better for a few hours, or a few days if I am lucky.
Someone suggested that it has something to do with stress and eating junk food, but I don’t know how that could be. anything about any of that. any suggestions there?
Thanks

Element: Yoga for Stress Relief & Flexibility
- ELEMENT-YOGA FOR STRESS RELIEF & FLEXIBI (DVD MOVIE)
Stress relief and flexibility programs are natural compliments in yoga. When you release mental pressure, you simultaneously relieve tightness in your muscles and joints. Similarly, when you focus on reducing stiffness in the body, you automatically release tension held in the mind. These two rejuvenating yoga programs, filmed in a tranquil garden overlooking the Pacific Ocean, can help undo the physical and mental effects of tension. The Stress Relief sequence uses the breath, longer holds, and forward bends to encourage the body’s relaxation response. This calming sequence will dissolve anxiety, improve quality of sleep, reveal clarity of thought, and activate the anti-aging benefits that restorative yoga provides. The Flexibility sequence uses simple but effective flowing vinyasas to enhance agility, alleviate pain, cultivate a greater free range of movement, and reduce risk of future injury.

They are all good depending on how your body is feeling at the time, but for what you are asking I believe the best is “Restorative” yoga. If you can find a yoga studio that offers it, you will feel so relaxed afterwards.

Question by CaptainLeaf: Natural remedies for premature contractions and anxiety?
I have a friend who is not organic and probably not very healthy, but she is a typical female in her twenties and she’s having premature contractions. She has so much anxiety and I need to think of something useful to tell her.
Best answer:
Answer by j
Your friend really needs to talk to her GP asap. It could be Braxtons Hicks but she really needs to talk to her GP for her peace of mind.
Meditation and listening to nature sounds such as the sound of the ocean might help with her anxiety. She might be able to take rescue remedy but needs to talk to her doctor or a qualified midwife first to be sure it is suitable for her at her stage in pregnancy:
http://www.rescueremedy.co.uk/About-RESCUE-products_Who-can-take-Rescue-products_pg44.aspx
Encourage her to eat healthily for the sake of her baby and stay away from smoke and to use environmentally friendly household products that are safer for her and her baby.
Best wishes.
